The Bavarian Representative Office in Poland
About us
Founded in 2006 and maintained by the Warsaw-based German-Polish Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the state of Bavaria’s office in Poland is headed by Michael Kern, the Chamber’s executive director. The office’s COO is Anna Grzelak.
Poland in Bavaria
Annual trade between Bavaria and Poland amounts to more than €7.3 billion (2010). According to the latest figures available from Germany’s Federal Office of Statistics, 48,806 Poles reside in Bavaria. Intercultural exchanges between the state and the country are fostered by such institutions as the Polish Cultural Center (which forms part of the Polish Consulate General in Munich), by Cracow House in Nuremberg, and by the Munich-based German-Polish Society.
Communities and districts in Bavaria and Poland have entered into 38 partnerships. A further one exists between the regions of Central Franconia (Bavaria) and Pomerania (Poland).
Bavaria in Poland
Bavaria’s exports to Poland in 2010 amounted to nearly €4 billion. Such major Bavarian companies as BMW, MAN, Siemens, Allianz, Langenscheidt and Zott have been successfully operating for many years on the Polish market.
