Bavaria’s Economics Minister Zeil comments on labor market figures for May 2009

MUNICH  Bavaria’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Martin Zeil, commented as follows on the labor market statistics published by the German Federal Employment Agency: “The Bavarian labor market was still doing reasonably well in May despite the difficult economic situation. Bavaria is the only German state to have an unemployment rate with a four in front of the decimal point. During the last upswing we managed to achieve full employment in many parts of the state, which gave the labor market a certain boost in the present recession.”
