Hessel: “A flagship project of our strategy for the future”

MUNICH / AUGSBURG    Bavaria’s Vice-Minister of Economic Affairs, Katja Hessel, presented HOREX with a support package today totalling euro 780,000. “With our help, HOREX is setting up a new motorcycle production facility to revitalise the traditional brand name for German motorcycles”, Hessel explained. Bavaria is supporting the investment under its ‘Bavaria on the Move’ initiative.

“The motorcycle factory is a flagship project of our strategy for the future and will give a boost to the business location of Augsburg and the region as a whole”, the Vice-Minister underlined. The motorcycles that have now been entirely re-developed by HOREX are known for their efficient
and highly innovative, patented engines. The company is the second German make of motorcycles after BMW seeking to position its brand in the premium sector.

Invest in Bavaria, the Business Promotion Agency of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, was a great help to HOREX in its search for the right location in Bavaria. In January 2011, the company announced its decision to build up a motorcycle production facility in Augsburg. The main reasons for choosing this location were the optimal infrastructure, an excellent network of component suppliers and the support it received from the local business development agency.

“This successful recruitment underscores the efficiency of our regional aid. And it is of direct relevance to the labour market too. At least 25 new jobs will be created with the help of our grant,” the Vice-Minister was delighted to say.
