Zeil: "Expansion will secure jobs in Bavaria"

MUNICH   The Bavarian-Polish corporation SoftM / Comarch continued its successful talks with China’s second largest IT provider Inspur in the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs today. The talks focused on the joint development of the Chinese market and their aim is to market the 'Comarch Semiramis' software developed in Bavaria for all business applications of small and medium-sized enterprises in China. Bavaria’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Martin Zeil, commented: "This will give a boost to software development in Bavaria and help to secure highly qualified jobs in the State. I am delighted that Comarch is expanding its activities in the Chinese market from its base in Bavaria and I wish the company every success in its cooperation with the Chinese service provider Inspur."

Only last November, talks were held between Bavaria’s Economics Minister Zeil and Piotr Piatosa, CEO of SoftM and Vice-President of Comarch, during a delegation trip to Poland. Both sides took positive stock of the year Comarch had spent building up its engagement in Bavaria. Economics Minister Zeil: "Comarch is an excellent example of a strong trend: more and more leading companies from Eastern Europe, in particular those operating in the IT sector, see Bavaria as an ideal location from which to open up new markets."

Nearly one year ago, the Polish software group Comarch S.A. obtained a controlling interest in SoftM Software und Beratung AG headquartered in Munich. With a staff of 360 employees, including some 120 in Bavaria, SoftM now manages 4,000 key customer accounts worldwide.
